At a very young age, she was a victim of sexual assaults, a reality that unfortunately continued after her arrival here, in a toxic family and relational context. It was after a liberating divorce that she found the strength to put words to her story. Her autobiographical book Maktoub was born from this vital need to free herself from the past, to soothe her pains, and above all, to give a voice to those who have experienced violence. 

Through her testimony, Mona Saoumaa shares a message of resilience, courage, and hope. Maktoub is not just a story of survival: it is an act of transmission, truth, and healing.
